Suggest Remedy For Soft Lump On The Head Post Injury

My ex was carrying our three year old son in the rain and fell causing our son to fall and hit the back of his head on the stairs. Now he has a large lump the size of a silver dollar on the back of his head that is soft, like it is filled with fluid. What should I do, if anything, what is this lump?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

See, head injury is always an emergency i.e. it should always be examined properly and followed up regularly. Most probably it looks like a hematoma or localised collection of blood. Apply cold compression to the spot twice daily and get seen by a doctor. Maybe an X-ray skull or CT scan brain would be needed to rule out something serious.

Hope this was helpful.
Regards
