Suggest Remedy For Slow Breathing And Weird Feeling In Eyes

Hi. My name is Damon Holloway. I m 18 years old. I weigh around 180 pounds. I am not on any medications and i dont have any particular health issues. However, recently i have been drinking the Kava Kava Root powder. Its a herb that helps with my anxiety and stress. However i think i drank more than i should have because i have been drinking it almost every day and also i drank 3 cups of it last night before bed. Now, i am feeling slightly weird. my eyes feel a bit weird and my breathing is a bit slow. Right now i am trying to eat but all we have here now is pizza which i am not sure if i should eat it because of the condition i am in right now. What should i do?

Hi,

Kava kava is an herbal preparation of plant Kava (Piper methysticum), made from roots or stump of this shrub. They act much like alcohol, which make you feel calm, relaxed and happy. It is also thought to relieve pain, control seizures and relax muscles. It is advised not to use this regularly due to its known side effects, particularly with increased doses.

Kavalactone is the ingredient responsible for most of its beneficial effects. 75-250 mg is the effective daily dose of kavalactone. It is never advised to take more than 250 mg in a single dose or in a day. Though its use for short term (1-24 weeks) in low doses, has been shown to be safe for liver but long term use or in higher doses has been shown to have injurious effects on liver & even acute hepatitis.

Similarly with increased doses, even with a single dose, it may have unwanted effects like dizziness, drowsiness, headache etc. It may also cause dilatation of pupils. In my opinion, all your weird feeling as well as feeling of weird eyes are due to overdose of Kovalactone. You should take adequate rest and stay hydrated with plenty of liquids. Most of these side effects are transient. The symptoms will go away by themselves after some time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
