Hi! I m a 30 year old male who had Legges Calves Perthes bilaterly as a child. My left hip (the current problem child) was affected worse than my right. Over the past 5 years I have been experiencing an increasing amount of pain. The pain has gotten so bad over the past year that I ve resorted to using a cane. I have been on Anti-Imflammatory meds for several years now and have also had an injection in my left hip recently. The injection actually caused the pain to increase for several weeks. I was advised that surgery is probably going to be my best option and that I will need a total replacement. Would it be advisable to have a replacement considering my age and the Perthes?
