Suggest Remedy For Recurring Pain In Center Of Back Radiating To Jaw And Ear

Severe Pain in centre of back between shoulder blades and in front at centre lower rib level radiating out to entire back and sometimes up neck to jaw and ear on right side only. Lasts from ten minutes to an hour. Occasionally stabbing pain in right groin shooting up to right shoulder. Experienced first some five years ago and now becoming more frequent. Any suggestions please.

Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query .The most probable cause of your problem is cervical spondylosis . The is condition when wear and tear of the disc between the vertebrae occur . This decreases the space for vertebral column and nerves radiating from them . This causes pain in back that radiates to jaw and ear .

The main cause for such problem is continuously working in same posture for long time .

I would suggest you to consult orthopedician for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order X-ray of the region or order MRI to find out the exact cause and to rule ou the causes like angina or kidney stone pain . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant ,serratiopeptidase and recommend some exercises .

For now start physical therapy of back , Avoid working in same posture for long time , tale advil (if not allergic or paracetamol for pain and take rest.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
