Hi my father 59 was admitted in the hospital last 15days ago. The concern doctor told that he (my father) got a mini stroke. After getting discharge from the hospital he return back to the home but till now he is not able to walk properly. Even he is not able to stand without support any one. I M very worry abt his Health. pls tell me wht the step should I take???
First of all, your father should measure his blood pressure regularly and if it were high, he should receive medical treatment, decrease salt and fat intake, do kidney function test, lipid profile, an ECG and an ECHO. Second, he should take vitamin B complex once per day after meals and Benfotiamine 40 mg, besides taking aspirin 160 mg. Third, he should use a device to help walk for 3-6 months until his muscles restore their strength. He should use the device every day to avoid muscle atrophy. In the beginning, he could find it difficult, but you should encourage him to continue.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
