Suggest Remedy For Problem In Moving Arm After An Injury

Dear Doctor, Several months ago I fell on my left shoulder and arm. Then later my arm was caught in my side car window and I couldn t get it loose as the window quickly rolled up. I have lost range of motion in my left arm. If I reach to left side of my body, the pain is horrible. It feels like a burning cut into my shoulder. I can slightly raise the left arm, but I can t put my left hand on my hip.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you may be having tear in shoulder muscles along with fluid accumulation. I would suggest you to get MRI of the shoulder. This will give us idea about extent of your tear and fluid collection.
If there is fluid collection only than you can get a steroid injection and it will be helpful for you.
If there is rotator cuff tear than you need to get it repaired. Sometime there is bony spur than and it needs to be shaved.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Jayesh Vaza's  Response
Dear patient
It seems you have injured your left shoulder and there is significant soft tissue injury. Soft tissue injury leads to significant movement restrictions. It needs to be investigated with mri of left shoulder. It gives detail information of rotator cuff muscles and even bones. So visit radiology center nearby you and get it done. If report comes abnormal visit shoulder surgeon nearby you. If report is normal be happy and start physiotherapy center and start shoulder range of movement excersise and short wave diathermy.
