Suggest Remedy For Persistent Cough With White Foam Sputum With Chunks

I have a persistent cough that will not subside. Symptons include: drainage down throat, when I cough I cough up sputum (white foam with some snot-type chunks); some times I cough so much my chest aches and it becomes hard to catch breath. What could be causing this and what should I be doing to resolve it?

Hello,

It can be an upper respiratory tract infection. A sputum culture is required to look for any infective signs. Antibiotics may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
