Suggest Remedy For Pelvic Strep B Infection

Hello, I have got a strep B infection in my pelvis, and I have developed a sore throat also. I feel totally run down having finished a course of antibiotics. I generally look after myself, so I m not sure why this has developed. Can you help please, I feel awful. Many thanks

Hi,

The mode of transmission is with direct contact of nasal or throat discharge of an ill person (may be other person or self infection transfer by nose to genital way). Such infection most of the times causes pelvic inflammation / abscess. Drainage of the abscess by an expert surgeon along with antibiotic treatment would heal it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
