Suggest Remedy For Painful Lump Behind Ear

Hi my son had a small hard lump appear behind his right ear under the skin. Sore to touch, but not generally painful. He was in good health, temperature was normal and had not been ill. Was referred by go to ent at local hospital. They said it was a tick bite. He was given anti biotics. The lump eventually went away. The lump has just returned 5 months later. He is in good health. Worried that this has returned.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC ..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a painful lump behind the ear can be a swollen lymph node secondary to infection or can also be a tick bite but as it got subsided with antibiotics it seems to be due to infection in the body specifically head and neck region..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist or a General Physician and get evaluated and a biopsy or FNAC of the lump can be diagnostic..
In case if it is Reactionary Lymphadenopathy secondary infection then you will be investigated for a probability of infection and proper antibiotic course will be helpful in complete resolution..
As of now do warm compresses over lymph nodes..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
