Suggest Remedy For Pain While Recovering From Severe Pericoronitis

I had sever pericoronotis about two weeks ago which led me to get my wisdom teeth pulled 8 days ago, I ve been in so much pain still, can t open my mouth and I just recently looked at my incisions and they re completely infected again. I ve been on amoxicillin religiously, and a prescribed mouthwash for 15 days now. What should I do? It just won t go away and I just want to be pain free.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
i understand your concern, it is the infection that is causing the pain mostly. The pain ususally improves quite well to antibiotics and mouth wash. In some cases antibiotic resistance may be there, which causes the organism to not respond to treatment. In your case i suggest you could ask your doctor and consider choices of either stepping up the dosage or changing over to a better antibiotic.

along with antibiotics, pain killers could also be taken for a short duration to alleviate the pain.

avoid sweet and sugary substances, and frequent mouth washes after eating food.

thank you
wish you a speedy recovery....!
