I have had chest congestion for over a month now. I went to the doc and she said it was bronchitis and gave me an antibiotic. This was a month ago. I am still congested and now my right side chest hurts, sometimes sharp pain and sharp pain will go through my right shoulder. Also the right side upper back hurts as well. What do you think this is?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should get done chest x ray first.and rule out infection.
I also advice you to get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) as diagnosis of bronchitis needs atleast PFT.
The treatment of bronchitis you received is not standard one.
Ideal treatment is as follows.
1. Inhaled treatment with long acting beta 2 agonist and inhaled corticosteroids.
2. Antibiotics according to sputum culture report.
3. Anti histamine and anti inflammatory drugs.
4. Oral bronchodilator as and when required.
