Suggest Remedy For Pain In Rib Cage

I woke up with severe sharp pain at the bottom of my rib cage and it feels as tho a rib might be broken but nothing happened (that I know of) that would cause a broken rib. I don t know if it s related but when I lifted my shirt to check for bruising I saw large clusters of small red bumps on the sides of my abdomen. Any idea what either of those could be and if the two are possibly related?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think that you might be having herpes zoster. this is a viral infection in the skin and it causes blisters on skin with sharp pai like rib injury. Blisters are present on one side and never crosses midline. Typically there is severe itching and sense of something is being pulled. I would recommend you to show it to skin specialist and make sure if this is the diagnosis.
You can share image of these lesions with me also. Feel free to ask any other followup questions. Thanks
