Suggest Remedy For Pain And Soreness Behind My Nipple

I am a woman, 29, and over a week ago at sports I was elbowed by a friend and she hit my left breast directly on the nipple. It still hurts at the centre behind my nipple. I have not used an ice pack or anything at all, just massaged the area a little everyday. Will it heal? What would you suggest?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Trauma to the breast can lead to fat necrosis and formation of a lump. Ifthere is nno lump or severe pain in the breast, there is no reason to worry.
Mostly, it will heal on its own, there is no reason to apply any ice pack.
You can consult a surgeon if there is severe pain or any lump palpable in the breast.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
