Suggest Remedy For Knee Pain After Injury

I dislocated my knee four years ago. Now i play more sports in high school and the pain keeps getting worse. Sometimes when I run it feels like it s popping out of place. I wear my brace sometimes during practices and games but it hasn t helped me get better. It will also do this randomly when i walk. More frequently, it feels like there are air bubbles stuck in the backside of my leg behind my knee. If you could help me that would be wonderful. -Emily

Hi,

It is important to consult with a doctor or a physical therapist to assess the extent of your knee injury and to determine the appropriate treatment plan. However, some general remedies for knee pain after an injury include:
- Rest: Resting the knee can help reduce pain and inflammation.
- Ice: Applying ice to the affected area for 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day can help reduce pain and swelling.
- Compression: Wrapping the knee with an elastic bandage or using a compression sleeve can help reduce swelling and provide support.
- Elevation: Elevating the leg can also help reduce swelling and pain.
- Physical therapy: A physical therapist can help you develop a personalized exercise plan to improve knee strength and flexibility.
- Medications: Over-the-counter pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help reduce pain and inflammation.
- Surgery: In some cases, surgery may be necessary to repair the knee and reduce pain and instability.

Again, it is important to consult with a doctor or a physical therapist for a proper evaluation and treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
