Suggest Remedy For Itchy Rashes On Body While Recovering From Dengue

Dear Doctor, My wife was having dengue fever lasting 4 days. Last 3 days she had no fever. She is having normal urine, she had no other issue like vomiting etc. Now from yesterday she is having heavy itching and having rash. Is she is in recovery phase? Do i need to visit doctor now? Thanks in advance for advice. Apurba Sarkar

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Apurba Sarkar,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Fever with appearance of rashes could be due to dengue.
You need to get her investigated for the following:
1. Complete blood count
2. Liver function test
3. Dengue serology for antigen and antibodies
If dengue serology is positive with platelet count less than 40000, then she needs admission. Any other symptoms like bleeding tendencies, fever, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and giddiness are indications for admission.
Kindly consult Physician if the report indicates such a picture.
In the meantime, let her take plenty of water and fluids.
Hope the information provided is clear.
All the best.
