63 yr. young female 5'8" 210 pounds/ TKR 6 weeks ago. Four and a half weeks after surgery itching began at bedtime, on the bottom of both of my feet. The itching has now spread to various areas of my body from head to toe beginning in the early evening. For the first 2- 2&1/2 weeks after the surgery I was taking 600 mg Ibuprofen 3xs daily and morphine 2xs daily. I stopped taking the morphine then (after 2&1/2 weeks) and gradually have been reducing the Ibuprofen to now 300mg twice daily (mornings and bedtime). Can the itching have to due with the metal prothesis after such a long period of time? What can be done about it? Can the itching be related to medications or combinations of medications and vitamins and herbs? Oh yes... I was released from rehabilitation early, Nov. 5th 2014, due to having contracted a virus at he clinic.....Campylobacter....Can THAT have anything to due with it? Thanks for your help!
