Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Increased blood glucose levels could be caused not only due to presence of sugar in food, but also from presence of other carbohydrates in diet.
Basically, it is due to impaired glucose uptake and metabolism due to decreased insulin secretion and/or its action.
Diabetes needs to be confirmed by means of following investigations:
1. Fasting and Postprandial blood glucose measurement.
2. Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) measurement.
Once confirmed, according to the results, high glucose levels can be controlled by anti-diabetic drugs along with proper diet and exercise.
Regular follow-up with investigations is necessary to know weather glucose levels are under control.
You need to consult Diabetologist or Physician for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
