General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The cellulitis is mostly related to gram positive bugs infecting the subcutaneous space. If precise course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications with icing approach do not resolve the lump totally, then due consideration must be done for alternative approach of cure.

Such majority of the cases end up with incision and drainage procedure by consultant surgeon. However, your treating doc is best person to decide the real mode of therapy needed by your clinical condition.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
