Hello,

You are suffering from frequent loss of voice, tight chest and mild cough. You are having this problem since 6 days. You are suggested to give voice rest. Do not talk. Take home made liquid or semi solid food that is well cooked for a couple of days so that you may not hurt your throat. Take sips of water and fluid throughout the day so that the throat mucosa does not get dry. Keep cough lozenges in your mouth for relieve.

Get clinically examined by an ENT, get swab tests, sputum tests, required blood tests and imaging tests (if needed) done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. It will be treated with analgesic, antibiotics, pharyngitis, laryngitis, etc.) or surgery (tonsillitis) if needed. In the meantime, gargle your throat with warm water and salt 2-3 times a day. Take non sedating antihistamines for relief. Taking antitussives will be helpful. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
