Suggest Remedy For Fever, Headache And Feeling Of Cold In A Child

Hi, good afternoon. I have queries about my 6 year old son. He started running a temperature 3 days ago (today is the 3rd day of fever) & he s complaining about having a headache (to the neck), bodyache & feeling cold. I have yet to bring him to a doctor. What can i do to ease his discomfort?

Hi,

If he do not have any other symptoms other than fever, headache and body ache, and he is otherwise playful, we need not worry- this is probably a viral fever which will subside in a couple of days.

Let him take rest, drink enough fluids and have a soft diet. Give paracetamol every 6-8 hours. This will relieve fever, headache and body ache. If fever persists beyond 3-4 days, fresh symptoms appear or becomes lethargic or not at all taking feeds, kindly take him to a pediatrician without delay for further evaluation
