Suggest Remedy For Fever And Pain In The Hip

I saw an orthopedic doctor today about a painful hip. After physical exam and ruling out hip/pelvic fractures or problems with the lumbar spine via x-Ray, she said said it was probably a sprain. (The problem occurred after stretching severely backwards and reaching down for my lower leg. So a sprain seems like a reasonable diagnosis.) After returning home, I find that I am running a fever of 100 F to 100.5 F. Is this related to the sprain? Should I contact a doctor about this now, or just see if the fever subsides? Thanks, John, Jakarta, Indonesia

Some time sever pain can cause fever. I would suggest you to take Brufen tablet for this fever. I hope this is not serious. If this fever returns again then I would recommend you to get MRI of the hip joint and blood count. If it shows any abnormality then it can be infection in the hip which is causing this pain and fever. It will not be seen on x ray. So your doctor may have missed this diagnosis.
