I had the flue but my symptom is feeling faint, very light headed while sitting up at a restaurant and then a cold feeling going from my head down my body with my arms feeling very limp and lack of strength. I am 70 years old in good health with yearly check ups.

Hi,

Your symptoms may be related to your recent bout of flu. Some remedies to overcome these symptoms are:
- Rest and hydration: Ensure you are getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated with water and electrolyte-rich fluids.
- Balanced meals: Try to eat small, frequent meals that are well-balanced with healthy proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. This can help to regulate your blood sugar levels and reduce feelings of dizziness and weakness.
- Gentle exercise: Engage in gentle exercises like stretching, yoga, or walking to improve blood flow and boost energy levels.
- Medications: You can consider taking over-the-counter medications such as meclizine to help alleviate dizziness or vertigo. You can also take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to reduce any pain or fever you may have.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, you should seek medical attention from a healthcare provider as soon as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
