Suggest Remedy For Constipation When On Xeralto

Hi, I am 70 years of age and weigh around 250 lbs. I am good general health. The only medicines I have to take is a blood thinner called Xeralto 20mg which my doctor said I have to take for the rest of my life to prevent blood clots since I have a blood clotting factor in my genes. I had a blood clot in my right leg a year ago. Aside from that, I take Famotidine 20 mg for acid reflex. I had my gallbladder removed about 4 years ago. The problem I have is that my stools tend to be gummy and I have to wipe my self a lot of times after I have a bowel movement. What is a solution to this problem.

Thanks for asking in healthcaremagic forum

Fatty food if not absorbed/digested properly can cause sticky stools which sticks to the lavatory pans. So, as you have been operated for Gall bladder disease, your fat absorption capacity will be decreased due to non storage and release of bile from gall bladder. So, decrease fatty food in your diet for relief. You can go for Syp Lactulose for time being constipation. All the best.
