Suggest Remedy For Cold And Chronic Tonsillitis

hi am 34 yrs old recently i was suffering from chronic tonsillitis and cold with the green patches on the body, i consulted medicine doctor he told to do aso titre....it was 800 so he prescribed me pentids 200 twice but after taking this medicine for 1 month i had develop colitis.....now the doctor has hold my medicine and will surely prescribed for injection.....but am under IVF treatment...so is it safe for me and my baby...........

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold and chronic tonsillitis. Well tonsillitis occur when there is severe upper respiratory tract infection or infection left untreated for long times . It can occur due to viral and bacterial infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and rule out causes like viral infection in which antibacterial drugs do no good . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test. You can go for injection as well which is safe to use. Doctor may prescribe anti viral ( acyclovir ) along with decongestants and mucolytic agent . For now avoid cold food or beverages , do warm saline gargles several times a day and drink warm water mix with one spoon honey .
