Suggest Remedy For Bruise And Painful Lump After Draining Cyst

I recently had a sebaceous cyst drained at my doctor s office. Ever since it has been very sore and uncomfotable to sit or use the toilet. There is what looks like a purple bruise and a small painful lump next to the area where the doctor made the incision. It isn t red or swollen. Why is this and how can I relieve the pain?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The lump may be due to the formation of fibroid/scar tissue in the area.

IN addition to using anti inflammatory pain killers (aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen etc) you may want to consider a sitz bath, 2 to 3 times a day.
This should relieve some of your discomfort. This means sitting in warm (not hot water) for 10 to 15 minutes. Salt or epsom salts can be added.

If there is no relief then you should see your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
