Suggest Remedy For Acne
Hello Dr. I m Sreedevi. I have hormonal and PCOD problems due to which I ve acne along with dark circles under my eyes and around my lips. Acne slows down from time to time but I really want to get rid of the dark skin around my lips. They are very dark and makes me look very sick especially in photos. Basically I m dark so the dark skin around my lips worsens my look. I ve this issue since I was 12 yrs old. Now I m 30 yrs. tried several skin lightening creams, gels.. (prescribed by Drs) Also chemical peels... (under Drs supervision) All worsened my skin condition by aggregating breakouts. Then I had to sit for other rounds of acne treatments. Is there a permanent solution to my problem? Will laser treatment be of any help? Please advise... Thanks Sreedevi.

Hi thanks for writing to healthcare magic.I can understand your concern.In my opinion you are probably suffering from perioral melanosis.Common causes for this condition are vitamin deficiencies,allergic reaction to lipsticks and tooth paste ,hormonal changes.I will advise you to stop any cosmetics over lips and also change of toothpaste.You can apply a mild steroid cream like dosetil lotion for 10 to 14 days only and oral vitamin tablets like zincovit.I hope this will help you.Thanks
