Suggest Remedies For Sharp Chest Pain

My 14 year old son is complaining of chest pain that he was experiencing throughout the day. He is an excellent athete and has had no serious illnesses. Breathing and bending causes sharp pain. Should I bring him to the doctor immeidately or wait til morning?

Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely because his pain is associated with movements of rib cage (bending and breathing).
So you can wait and follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in musculoskeletal pain.
1. Tell him to avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Tell him to avoid movements causing pain, avoid sudden jerky movements of chest and forward bending.
3. You can give him simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
4. Application of warm water pad on affected areas of chest is also beneficial.
Don't worry, he will be alright with all these in 1-2 days. If not improving then consult doctor.
