Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Sir, Presently I am having vascular type headache at least once in a week which lasts for 24 to 48 Hrs. The pain typically starts below the neck and gradually propagates to one side of the head. This generally starts early in the morning and become worse by the day progress. I am taking saridon once the pain is unbearable. What could be the reason doctor ? is it due to acidity or sinus problem ? I am non alcoholic, vegetarian and non smoker. I shall be blessed if I could get permanent solution for this. This kind of situation is there from past 3 years.
It is not likely related to acidity but headaches can occur due to sinus disease. These headaches normally involve pain in the face as well along with sinus symptoms (nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, post nasal drip) at the same time.
It is possible that the headaches may be migraines. There are foods that can cause or worsen migraines such as cheese, chocolate, red wine, caffeine. You would need to avoid these foods and any other triggers you may have.
There are medications that you can use to prevent migraines if they occur often, this is called prophylactic migraine medication, your doctor can prescribe one for you.
I hope this helps
