Hi, I m 55 and haven t had a period in almost 9 years. I m not bleeding but feel like I m having menstral cramps. Also some low back and side pain, general discomfort. Other than that I feel ok, just mild discomfort over last few weeks. Kind of worse today however.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The lower backache can be due to menopausal effect. However, I suggest you get investigated with a digital x-ray of the lower spine and serum vitamin D estimation for primary work up. You can revert back with reports once done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
