Suggest Remedies For Lump In The Jaw Line

Hi.
I woke up this morning with a lump on the left lower side of my jaw, right along my jaw line. It is about 1/2 inch to the side and about 1/2 inch down from my mouth. I felt something small there yesterday and thought it was nothing, but when I woke up today, it was about the size of a quarter. It is moveable, firm, and causes discomfort when touched. Could you tell what this could possibly be? Thank you.

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain a lump under the jawline that is tender to touch seems to be most probably due to either swollen submandibular group of lymph nodes..

In case if it is due to lymph nodes, it can be probably due to infection in lymph nodes leading to Reactionary Lympahdenitis..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray or ultrasound can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Do cool compresses over the swelling..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
