Suggest Remedies For Low Blood Sugar And Nausea

I just checked blood sugar which was 57. I was not feeling well this morning - very nauseated and dizzy. I thought maybe I had some sort of bug until I began to shake a few minutes ago and checked blood sugar. I just ate a couple of cookies and will check it again in a little while. I am currently prescribed 1000 mg. Metoformin BID. Should I do anything else?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir /madam i can understand your concern
There is nothing to worry
This is an episode of hypoglycemia.
usually hypos are very rare with metformin.
kindly reduce the dose of metformin to 500 mg bid
follow strict low calorie diet and daily do exercise for 45 mins.
check hba1c% once in 3 months to estimate average blood sugar control.
in case of low sugars even after reducing the dose then stop medication and meet your treating doc regarding issue,
regards
