Suggest Remedies For Feeling Of Choking After Taking A Plastic Coated Tablet
I took a plastic coated tablet yesterday, it got stuck half way down and I had to drink a litre of water to push it down. Next day it still feels like something is stuck there, I can eat and drink fine, but it still feels like something is stuck. I also keep getting pains across my chest like I m choking. It is just bruised or is there a chance the tablet is still there?

Hi,
Noted your history of taking plastic coated tablet yesterday and felt it to be struck in chest, took a liter of water, can eat and drink normally but feels something is still stuck and choking, wants to know whether something is stuck or inflamed.
There are no known cases wherein such capsules or tablets are stuck hence the most probable cause can be inflammation or esophagospasm or even something else like stricture or so.
Hence I would advise you the following:
You can consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation and get started with a PPI like Omeprazole and an antacid.
If this helps continue the same.
If the symptoms do not abate then you need further evaluation by Barium studies and upper GI endoscopy to know the exact cause and get treated accordingly.
Till then take liquid diet only.
Avoid stress and anxiety.
