Suggest Remedies For Bug Bites

I have some type of bug bite on my leg. The area is bright red, hard, warm/hot to the touch, sore and some itching. I do not have streaks going out from the affected area. What kind of salve or home remedy can I apply to help the itch and the soreness?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

The bug bite site you are referring seems to be similar to Lyme rash (bull's eye skin rash). Please send a photo for confirmation.

If confirmed, antibiotics to start as per your doctor's prescription.
To relieve the itching and inflammation, you can:
- look for any tick part left inside and remove it
- wash the affected area with warm water and soap
- apply betaine and/or oxygenated water locally
- take oral anti-inflammatory med like ibuprofen or naproxen
- take oral anti-histamines
- apply cold compresses locally.

Wish fast recovery.
