Yesterday afternoon I stepped on a bee and it stung my toe. It s been over 24 hours now and my toe is still swollen and red. I was wondering if taking Benadryl would be safe while breastfeeding my 17 month old daughter if I should take anything at all.
Hello dear Understand your concern Bee sting cause the allergic reaction that produce the inflammation and lead to swelling and redness. I handle this type of cause as below: First closely inspect the sting area under the well light area, if stinger still inside the you have to remove it first. Apply benadryl and hydrocortisone ointment. Apply calamine lotion. Cold compression. If pain than take acenofenac-SR.
If not resolves in 5-7 days then go for Blood report like CBC to rule out the second bacterial infections. Hope this may help you
Contact HCM for any problem. Best regards Dr. Sagar
