Suggest Probable Side Effects Expected After Decreasing The Dosage Of Sinemet
My dad was diagnosed with parkinsonian symptoms and was put on Sinemet. The side effects appear to be worse than the illness. He also has heart problems and takes blood pressure meds as well as Plavix. What would the effects be if we lowered the dosage of sinemet or removed it completely?
Sinemet can have many side effects and sometimes may be troublesome.
By reducing the dose the side effects can be reduced however with reduced dose the good effects are also reduced hence the patient may again have problems with mobility.
So we need to weigh the benefits and risks. If his mobility is not very bad, and the side effects are too much you can always reduce the dose.
The only problem with reducing the dose will be his reduced mobility and more stiffness ie worsening of his primary disease symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
