im 23 years old, male, BMI of 21.8, 5'5" in height, and weigh about 64kgs. my dad is also hypertensive. my BP ranges from 130/80 to 140/90 even if im well rested. my doctor recently placed me under HPN med losartan 50mg 1/2 tab 2x a day. is there any chance that i may get off the drug and instead control my BP with proper diet and lifestyle changes?

Hello Sir! It is certainly possible to get the blood pressure down with a few improvements in diet and lifestyle. Since I cannot personalize a diet plan in the free questions, I suggest you google the Dash Diet, a diet recommends by many clinicians to teach patients how to change their lifestyle to improve risk factors and prolong life and quality of life.

Your blood pressure is only borderline high and does not become actual hypertensive until it reaches 140 systolic and 90 diastolic. Your weight is good. Start exercising 150 minutes per week and get your heart going, drop the sodium intake, more fresh fruit and vegetables and read the DASH diet.
