Suggest Methods Of Cure For Lower Back Pain In Elderly Woman

I am a 60 year old female. I fell onto my very lower back when a step stool slipped out from underneath me. I have pain in the area of impact, and pain in my buttocks and thighs, especially on the right side. The pain is eased when I am at rest, but it is extreme when I stand or walk. Is this the type of pain that will rectify itself with time, or do I need to go to the doctor?

hi,

thank you for providing a brief history of you.

as you mentioned your issue two things to focus here.

the mechanism of injury was fall
the age is the factor which is 60.

also you are a female so there may be chances you will be running out of calcium and vitamin D in the normal body mechanism.

chances to get small fracture or a tissue damage is also a possibility.

since you mentioned that on rest the pain goes but on activity the pain aggravates.

so it is advisable to take an x-ray or an MRI and see if any bony and soft tissue Injury has occur. Use of diagnostics and specialists guidance is never harmful .

also you should see the nature of the pain. if it is radiating from the lower back to the knee or below it them you need to surely meet up an orthopedic surgeon.

never an injury is big until it is ignored. so the proverb stands - " prevention is better than cure".

once the diagnostic revels certain fact the next course of action can be planned better.

with the grace of God I wish you a speedy recovery
