Suggest Medications For Excessive Cough In Infants

Dear sir, my daughter is 2 year 3 months old. Weight is 10 kg. She is suffering heavily from cough. The frequency of coughing is 10- 15 times in a minute. She has little fever. We are giving asthalin syrup and tixilyx syrup along with ibujesic syrup Is there any better medicine for her fast recovery She is not talking any powdered mixed antibiotics she starts vomiting every time Please guide

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant have symptoms of excessive cough which is due to poor immunity of child and repeated respiratory tract infections. I would suggest you to take combination of antihistamine and antibiotic drugs. Use vaporizers rub. I would advise you to visit pediatrician once and get your sinus x ray done and then start treatment as per that. Avoid hot, sharp, spicy food and give child steam inhalation. Give child proper rest and give her light food. You should give cough expectorants to child. You should take antihistamine such as Benadryl or Chlorpheniramine along with Amoxicillin.
