i have been dealing wid acne since last 3 years, though i consulted dermatologists many times it did not help... finally they reduced to a great extent on their own.... but the problem now is that they only appear on one part of my face, mostly at the same place again and again.... what to do?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Acne is a recurrent and chronic condition and may last for years or even decades.
Treatment is therefore long term and patients need to be on a maintenance topical treatment even after acne activity is under control.
In my patients of acne I normally ask them to use a topical antibacterial e.g either clindamycin Or Benzoyl peroxide gel during daytime. I ask them to use over active acne lesions like papules and pustules as a spot treatment.
At night I usually ask my patients to apply a topical retinoid e.g adapalene gel over the whole affected area. Retinoids are anti-inflammatory and comedolytic.
Retinoids therefore in addition to treating existing acne also prevent new acne lesions and therefore can also be used as a maintenance treatment, once every alternate days Or twice weekly in order to prevent new acne lesions.
I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful. Your dermatologist may also start you on oral antibiotics if your acne is inflammatory.
Oral Retinoids are also an option for those who have frequently recurrent acne Or acne not responding adequately to tradional antiacne treatment.

Regards
