Suggest Medication To Stop Stools With Mucus And Blood In A Toddler
My two and a half month old daughter has gotten 3 seedy mucousy stools with a little blood that is bright red in color in the past 2 weeks. She is not showing any signs of discomfort that I can tell. Her two month shots were recently given. All answers are truly appreciated as we have recently relocated to a new state and I do not have a pediatrician yet. Thank you.
What the history given here, it could be due to dysentery. However, if it does not have any associated symptoms like fever, abdomen pain, vomiting or abdomen distension then it is not dysentery.
It does seem to be due to diet though, or it is a viral infection. Ideally, if the symptom persists for days then the stool needs to be sent for examination, else it is nothing to worry.
To see the pediatrician is a must because in pediatric age group clinical examination is a must. Nothing much can be said here with such a brief history given.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hussain
