Hi,

Norethisterone seems the safest and effective drug for this purpose. As it is a version of normal body progesterone, it has no adverse effect on composition of milk, quantity of milk as well as growth and development of the infant in a lactating mother. Hence, you can safely continue feeding your baby, while using this drug.

It should be started 3 days before the expected date of start of periods and should be continued till a date, you want your period to be postponed. Periods will start 2-4 days after stopping the drug. The dosage of Norethisterone for this purpose will be 5 mg three times daily.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
