Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have lower back pain. Right above my buttock. It s like a dull thud pain. It has been there for about 3 1/2 weeks now. I went to the urgent care, a week ago. They gave me some medicine for a possible kidney infection and virus (I was nausea for 2 days). I took the medicine as directed. At first they said I had blood in my urine (when tested). Then they called and said that there was no bacteria in my urine. My back stopped for a couple of days, and now it s back. Same place, same dull pain. Any suggestions, as to what could be the problem?
You have been given antibiotics for kidney infection. So urine culture might negative if urine collected after antibiotic intake.
Now you have back pain again. So I suggest you investigate with ultrasonography of the abdomen and pelvis to check whether any kidney problem present or not.
If kidney problems like stone, pyelonephritis not present than problem might be related to lower spine for which x-ray is done for further workup
You need to consult nearby physician for detailed evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
