Suggest Medication For Small, Red, Itchy Rashes On Palms And Hands

I have an itchy warm rash that started on my palms and is now on both sides of my hands. No lesions or pattern. Small red unraised different sized areas. I have no other symptoms. It goes away with Benadryl but quickly returns after the Benadryl wears off. I ve been using topical hydrocortisone with temporary relief. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the eruptions over palm and hands indicate allergic rashes which are responding to Benadryl. My guidelines at present:
- Keep the part clean with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Local application of calamine lotion
- Avoid excess sun exposure
- Get a prescription of antibiotic as doxycycline or others with your family doctor for better control at an early stage and prevent secondary bacterial infection
- Keep your blood sugar under control

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
