Suggest Medication For Scabies Like Rashes On Hand And Arms

My son went to a sleep over and a few days later I noticed that he has a rash on his hand and arms. I looked up scabies on google and, the symptoms are very similar. I made a doctor s appt. The appointment is next Monday. Is there anything that I can buy over the counter to ensure that the rest of the family does not get it. If it is scabies.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have scabies like rashes on hand and arms . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , side effect , sensitivity to sunlight , eczema , psoriasis or scabies. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on rashes to reduce inflammation and redness , take over the counter anti histamine like benadryl and stay in moist environment . If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically or may take a scraping from that area of your skin to examine under a microscope. Doctor may prescribe permethrin cream , lindane lotion or stromectol.
