Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the recurrent throat infection needs a precise evaluation for the cause of concern to get it solved best possible way.

* There can be issue of low immunity status or B and T cell dysfunction or deficiency which provoke such instances of repeated bacterial infections.

* Following tests do help best way
- complete hemogram with differential count
- ESR
- x-ray chest with reference to thymus shadow
- evaluation of particular antibodies presence in the serum
- nasopharyngeal swab in selected cases
- with or without CT scan of the lungs

* So far as the antibiotic dose is concerned, it is calculated according to the weight of the child and associated clinical findings.

In my clinic, I do recommend a combination of amoxicillin with clavulanic acid once 3 days of azee is over.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
