Suggest Medication For Recurring Acne

I am 24 years old. My acne started at the age of 16. , I tried medicines like clindamycin, benzoil peroxide, retino, nano, adaplene. After using, my acne really cured (specially using adaplene which I tried at last ). I used to get 2-3 pimple once a month which is quite normal and then I stopped using them. But after 3-4 months specially in this summer , I started breaking out again and my face is turning horrible, getting 3-4 acne everyday. Do I have to use these medicines everytime? I used them for nearly 5-6 years , now I am fed up.So whats the use of using these medicines if it helps for such a small time.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

As you said you suffer from acne vulgaris. You have taken treatment for long time. You got good response. But, again you developed acne lesions. Remember, acne is a recurring skin disease caused by multiple factors. Genetic influence may be there.

Stress,anxiety,sun exposure,oily skin,oily food, dandruff,sleeplessness,drugs like steroids,pills,iodine..etc might exacerbate the disease.

You may take treatment for long time even after controll of disease.

Antibiotics like minocycline or azithromycine in proper doses and isotretinoin in low dose may be taken under observation of dermatologist. Local application of clindamycine with adapalene gel at night with cleansing the face by antiseptic face wash like cetaphil may be considered.

Keep patience for the good result.I hope you got my answer.
