Sir/Madam My brother aged 25 has tb of chest . He has started medication . But the fever is not coming down even after 10 days. Please suggest a medicine to bring it down because he doesn t eat anything whenever having high fever. Alternate or daily dosage , which one is better for tb cure ?Also, the pleural effusion water was removed. But now the chest x-ray has clearly stated that the opacity in the chest has increased. Is it normal for a tb patient or should we take any action ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Treatment of TB takes a long time and the patient must take all the medications at the right time.

I recommend you to visit the doctor because in these case may be needed a hospitalisation since there is a clinical deterioration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi, General & Family Physician
