Suggest Medication For Pain And Swelling Of Hand Due To An Injury

I accidentally slammed my hand against a metal bar on my treadmill approximately 2 days ago. It instantly swelled & turned blue. My hand hurt so badly whenever I would move my fingers or hand, but they still were movable. If my hand wasn t elevated, I would feel jolts of pain. Now, the swelling has went down a bit, but now my knuckle is purple & it still hurts. I would like some insight on this.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from injury hand.Treatment of it is rest and analgesics (diclofenac three times a day after meals). Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside can be added. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. Hand should be kept elevated to reduce swelling. You are advised to x-ray of hand to be done to exclude fractures. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
