Suggest Medication For Lung Cancer

My father was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer; he refused chemotherapy but went for palliative rdiation last april; the pain is back and has spread out (originally) from the back and now up to the neck which was the site of the precious cervical biopsy(node was positive); they found a chronic, compression fracture on the C5 last week and the doctor was recommending a bone scan; he would submit for another radiation but is refusing chemotherapy(which we honor his request); is bone scan necessary (my father lives in the Philippines)

Hi
Your father is already suffering from stage 4 small cell lung cancer.Average life span during this stage even with chemotherapy is only 5-6 months.
Aim of treatment during this stage is not cure but only basic supportive care or palliative chemotherapy to improve quality of life.
Bone scan is not necessary at this stage.
For severe bone pain i would recommend he takes palliative radiation to bones and tablet morphine 10 mg 4 times a day after food.
He can also take zoledronic acid injections intravenously at an interval of 28 days which can be given mixing with normal saline intravenously over a period of 10 mins in case his bone pain becomes unbearable.
Regards
