Suggest Medication For Lower Back Pain Along With Burning Sensation In Leg

Three weeks ago I was working a convention for two days. During this time we had to stand for the whole time working the booth with the only time to sit down was during our 20 min. lunch break. For both days I was standing for 8 hours each day. By late morning on day one my lower back began to hurt and both thighs, at the front, just above my knee s about 8 inches up, began to burn and sting, almost feeling like sunburn. Since then, my right leg is slightly better but my left leg is still hurting the same and taking Advil doesn t seem to help. I am 62 years old, with controlled high blood pressure and cholesterol. I appreciate your advice. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
from history it seems that due to long standing there might be having some pressure on your inter-vertebral discs causing pinched nerve pressure producing these symptoms.
At this age some degenerative changes does occur on spines and discs so this is common.
Avoid more standing or bending position.
Take rest.
Go for back extension exercises.
Take Calcium, vitamin B12 and D supplements.
If require go for x-ray lower spines for osteoartheritis.
Ok and take care.
